TSA Regulations require air cargo security training for air forwarder ("IAC") employee and sub-contractor ("authorized representative") personnel in their respective air cargo security responsibilities (refer to: 49 CFR 1548) and/or basic security measures applicable to all personnel who have unescorted access to outbound air cargo.
If you, as a trucking company or other service provider, have been or are to be hired by an IAC for ground transport (pick-up, airport transfer or line haul) or other handling of outbound air cargo, you must complete appropriate training prior to performing such services. You must also complete annual refresher training.
An IAC that hires you will request records of such training. At least one of the IACs you perform services must either arrange or authorize such training.
GISTnet provides this training for numerous U.S. IACs, their truckers and other sub-contracted service providers. However, before providing this training we must have written authorization from a TSA-approved forwarder (IAC).
