ON SATURDAY, JULY 28, THE DURATION OF THE REGULARLY
SCHEDULED ACS SYSTEM OUTAGE WILL BE EXTENDED TO
PERMIT COMPLETING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE AIR-AMS
RESTRUCTURING PROJECT.

THE OUTAGE THAT NORMALLY BEGINS AT 2300 HOURS ON
SATURDAY AND ENDS AT 0300 HOURS ON SUNDAY, WILL INSTEAD
BEGIN AT 1200 (NOON) ON SATURDAY AND END AT 0300 ON
SUNDAY MORNING. NOTE THAT ALL TIMES ARE REFERENCED AS
EASTERN STANDARD TIME.

DURING THIS OUTAGE, TRANSACTIONS SUBMITTED TO ANY OF THE
ACS SYSTEMS: ABI, AIR-AMS OR OCEAN/RAIL-AMS, WILL BE
QUEUED FOR PROCESSING, BUT WILL NOT BE PROCESSED AND
REPLIED TO UNTIL THE OUTAGE IS CONCLUDED. THE AUTOMATED
EXPORT SYSTEM (AES) WILL NOT BE AFFECTED BY THIS OUTAGE
AND WILL REMAIN OPERATING DURING THIS PERIOD.

CUSTOMS PORT OFFICES WILL BE MADE AWARE OF THIS OUTAGE
FOR THE BENEFIT OF THOSE TRADE PARTICIPANTS WHO CHOOSE
TO CLEAR THEIR IMPORTATIONS USING LOCAL ALTERNATE/MANUAL
PROCEDURES.

DURING THE OUTAGE CUSTOMS WILL PROVIDE A TELEPHONE NUMBER
THAT CAN BE CALLED TO RECEIVE THE CURRENT STATUS OF THE
IMPLEMENTATION AND OUTAGE. THE STATUS MESSAGE WILL
INDICATE ANY CHANGE TO THE EXPECTED DURATION OF THE OUTAGE.
THE TELEPHONE NUMBER IS: (800) 868-5159. THERE IS STRONG
POSSIBILITY THAT THE OUTAGE WILL CONCLUDE CONSIDERABLY
EARLIER THAN 0300 ON SUNDAY MORNING. PARTICIPANTS WHO WISH
TO ACCESS AIR AMS EARLIER THAN 0300 ARE RECOMMENDED TO CHECK
THE STATUS BEGINNING AT APPROXIMATELY 2200 SATURDAY EVENING.
