SUBJECT: AMS VESSELS AFFECTED BY WORK STOPPAGE
PER INSTRUCTIONS FROM HQ, COMMERCIAL PROCESSING OFFICE, CUSTOMS OFFICERS
HAVE BEEN DIRECTED TO REMOVE THE ARRIVAL INFORMATION FOR ANY VESSEL
UNABLE TO DISCHARGE CARGO DUE TO THE ONGOING WORK STOPPAGE.
ONCE THIS ACTION IS TAKEN, ABI FILERS WILL RECEIVE A RELEASE DATE
UPDATE MESSAGE REMOVING THE RELEASE DATE THAT WAS BASED ON THE ACTUAL
ARRIVAL DATE OF THE AFFECTED VESSEL. ABI WILL ALSO RETURN THE PREVIOUS
RELEASE DATE OF THE INSTANT ENTRY AS PART OF THE OUTPUT MESSAGE.
FILERS NEED TAKE NO ACTION WHEN THESE RELEASE DATE UPDATE MESSAGES
ARE RECEIVED. WHEN THE WORK STOPPAGE ENDS, AMS CARRIERS WILL BE
INSTRUCTED TO RESEND THE VESSEL ARRIVAL AND THAT ACTION WILL TRIGGER
ANOTHER RELEASE DATE UPDATE TO THE AFFECTED FILERS. THE NEW UPDATE
WILL ESTABLISH A NEW RELEASE DATE AND WILL RESTART THE FILER'S 10-DAY
CLOCK FOR SUMMARY PRESENTATION (QUOTA ENTRIES ARE EXCLUDED FROM THIS
PROCEDURE).
