PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION 8272, PUBLISHED IN THE FEDERAL
REGISTER ON JULY 3, 2008 (VOL. 73, NO. 129), MODIFIES THE
DUTY-FREE TREATMENT OF CERTAIN ARTICLES FROM CERTAIN COUNTRIES UNDER THE GSP PROGRAM.
THE PROCLAMATION ALSO TERMINATES THE GSP ELIGIBILITY OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2010; DESIGNATES THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA AND THE REPUBLIC OF MONTENEGRO EACH TO BE DESIGNATED AS A BENEFICIARY DEVELOPING COUNTRY FOR GSP; AND DESIGNATES THE UNION OF THE COMOROS AS A LESSER-DEVELOPED BENEFICAIRY SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN COUNTRY ELIGILBE FOR AGOA BENEFITS, AS OF JULY 1, 2008. TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS TO THE HTS RELATED TO DUTY-FREE TREATMENT FOR PRODUCTS OF JAMAICA AND APPAREL IMPORTED UNDER CAFTA-DR ARE ALSO INCLUDED IN THIS PROCLAMATION.
THE FOLLOWING GOODS FROM THE INDICATED COUNTRIES HAVE HAD
THEIR GSP ELIGIBILITY REVOKED, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2008:
