The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) will host a public meeting on Oct. 14 in Washington, D.C., to discuss the new declaration requirement established by recent revisions to the Lacey Act. At this meeting, APHIS will provide stakeholders and the public with information about the declaration requirement and the proposed phase-in plan for its enforcement, followed by a question and answer session with APHIS and the other federal agencies involved in the implementation of the declaration requirement.
