This message provides information regarding the implementation of phase one of the United States-European Communities (EC) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the EC-Beef Hormones dispute. The United States has agreed to not increase additional duties above those in effect as of March 23, 2009. The United States Trade Representative (USTR) published a Federal Register Notice (74 FR 48808) on September 24, 2009, terminating additional duties that were previously announced January 15, 2009, but which have been delayed and never entered into force.
The following HTS chapter 99, subchapter III will remain in place:
