The President issued an Executive Order excusing most federal employees from duty the last half of the scheduled workday on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2009. As a result, as of 12:30PM, Thursday, December 24, 2009, Trade Operations at the Los Angeles Area ports of entry will be ceasing normal weekday operations. The Ports of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Las Vegas will commence holiday or weekend service at that point, meaning that only informal entries and time sensitive or perishable entries will be processed from 12:30PM, Thursday, December 24, 2009, and until normal operations resume on Monday, December 28, 2009. The Ports of Los Angeles / Long Beach and Port Hueneme will resume normal trade operations on Monday, December 28, 2009.
