Title:Modifications to Cargo Manifest Status Query for Importer Security Filing (ISF) Filers

In order to improve the ability of ABI filers to determine the proper bill of lading type for Importer Security Filings (ISF), the Cargo/Manifest Status Query is being enhanced. These changes to this chapter will occur approximately sixty (60) days from the date of this message. You will find a list of those changes below.

1. Record Identifier R1 (Input)
a. Position 70 will now include a Request for Related BOL Indicator. Please refer to the description and Note 3 for further explanation.

2. Record Identifier R4 (Output)
a. Position 72 will now include a Bill of Lading Type, which will be described as a regular, master, or house bill of lading.
b. Position 73 will now include the Importer Security Filing Indicator, which provides a Y when the ISF is on file and an N when the ISF is not on file.
c. Position 74 will now include the Mode of Transportation Code, which may be Ocean, Rail, or Truck.
