Martin Selig Property Management has advised U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that they will be securing the 1000 Second Ave. Building in downtown Seattle on Friday February 25th. This will effectively close the building to the general public.

CBP employees will remain on duty in the building; however, because public access to the building will be extremely limited, CBP is hereby advising the trade community that CBP has declared Friday February 25th a snow day for filers for the following ports: 3001 Seattle, 3002 Tacoma, 3003 Aberdeen, 3006 Everett, 3007 Port Angeles, 3008 Port Townsend, 3022 Spokane, 3029 SeaTac International Airport and 3071 UPS. Submission of summaries and payments of applicable duties that are due February 25, 2011 at the designated ports within the Seattle Area Port will be given an additional day for submission. All Entry Branch and other CBP business normally conducted at the 1000 Second Avenue Building may be conducted on the following business day, Monday February 28th. Alternative CBP locations at 7 S. Nevada St., SeaTac Air Cargo and the Port of Tacoma will remain open to the general public during regular business hours.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. The Area Port offices located at 1000 Second Avenue anticipate opening for business as usual on Monday February 28.

If you have any questions please contact CBP in Seattle at (206) 553-1720 or at the Port of Tacoma (253) 593-6336 ext 227 or at the Port of Seattle 7 S. Nevada St at (206) 553-1581.
