Area Port of Buffalo

Trade Day

May 3, 2012

U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Area Port of Buffalo is pleased to announce its first “Trade Day” scheduled for Thursday, May 3, 2012. This event will provide an opportunity for members of the trade community to meet with CBP and other government officials responsible for facilitating the importation of their goods.

The Trade Day activities will be held at U.S. Customs and Border Protection Port Office located at 726 Exchange St., Suite 400, Buffalo, NY from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. There is no cost to attend this event, but on-line registration will be required. Please send your email response to Shirlee.M.Fisher@dhs.gov to register for the event.

There will be no formal presentations. You are encouraged to bring your questions and interact one-on-one with the government officials responsible for processing and facilitating your import transactions while enforcing the various trade laws. This event is an opportunity for members of the trade community to meet the Area Port Trade Staff, including Import and Entry Specialists, Cargo Officers, Agriculture Specialists, ABI Client Representatives and C-TPAT Specialists to gain information that is relevant to your specific issues and establish contacts for future reference. Representatives from government agencies with which CBP partners, such as the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Food and Drug Administration, US Department of Agriculture, US Environmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and US Department of Commerce will also be on hand to answer questions.

If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact Supervisory Entry Specialist Tammy Hudson at (716) 843-8316 or by email at: Tammy.L.Hudson@cbp.dhs.gov

The Trade Community is directed to park on the third level (roof) of the parking ramp located on Van Rensselaer Street. For this event, you are not authorized to park in the visitor parking lot or other surface areas unless the ramp roof level is full. Please use the center lobby elevators to the 4th floor.
