Less than 2 Weeks Remaining in AMS!

In less than 2 weeks, ACE will be the only approved EDI for transmitting required advance rail and sea cargo information and ABI in-bond transactions to CBP. The deadline for trade migration is September 29, 2012. If you have not migrated to ACE by September 29, 2012, you run the risk of having your ocean, rail, and ABI in-bond transactions fail. Effective October 1, 2012, ALL aforementioned transactions will be processed by ACE. Any transactions not conforming to the ACE message formats will be rejected.

On October 1, 2012 CBP will begin decommissioning the Automated Manifest System (AMS) for rail and sea.

CBP applauds the participation of all carriers and ABI vendors who have completed the transition and are filing in ACE e-Manifest: Rail and Sea. CBP remains committed to identifying and resolving any system fixes required to ACE e-Manifest: Rail and Sea as a top priority.

There are still a small percentage of ocean and rail carriers and ABI in-bond filers that have not yet migrated to ACE. If your company has not yet migrated, you should be in discussions with your Client representative to establish a migration date prior to September 29, 2012.

There will be NO extensions granted.

After September 29, 2012 ocean carriers should be using the ACE Portal functionality to add all new conveyance records and to edit any that are under their ACE account. Ocean carriers who have not established their FREE ACE Portal Account should apply for an account now. The ACE Portal Application is available on CBP.gov, at the link below, and may be submitted electronically.

During the transition period between now and September 29, 2012, ocean carriers need to become familiar with the ocean conveyance functionality in ACE. At this time carriers should continue to send their Lloyds email requests to ams.sea.lloyds@dhs.gov when it is known that the vessel is not on file with CBP or if any of the following information changes: Name, Owner, Flag or Registry, Draft and Tonnage (Gross/Net).

Less than 2 weeks remain to complete all of the steps necessary to make the transition to ACE rail and sea manifest filing.
