FDA will be releasing version 2.0 of ITACS this weekend. ITACS will be unavailable from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm tonight April 19, 2013 in order to implement this release. The following modifications and added functionality will be made with this release. The trade presentation posted on www.fda.gov has been updated to reflect these changes and can be found at http://www.fda.gov/ForIndustry/ImportProgram/ucm296314.htm

Improved CAPTCHA – Previously the security letters users had to enter were difficult to read. An improvement to this security text has been implemented that makes it easier to read and also adds the option to hear the letters.

Ability to upload additional document types – In addition to PDF files, users will be able to upload additional document types including Word, Excel, JPEG, GIF and txt.

Implementation of Virus Scanning – With the additional document types it is necessary to scan submitted documents for viruses. Because this scan is not instantaneous, users may have to wait up to 5 minutes for their documents to go through the scan and upload into the system. For this reason, at the time of submission users may opt to receive an email indicating whether their upload was successful. The email will indicate whether the document(s) passed the virus scan. If the user does not opt to receive this notification, they will need to check ITACS at a later time to check the status of the upload.

Addition of Helpful Links Section – A new section has been added to the bottom of the screen to provide helpful links to ITACS users. This initial release includes links to the Product Code Builder

Display of Estimated Lab Work Completion Date - For lines where a sample has been collected and the analysis is in progress, ITACS will now display an estimated lab work completion date to the user.

Printer friendly version of search results - A new link has been added below the search results “Export to PDF” which allows the user to generate a PDF suitable for printing that display the status of all lines in the entry.

Please direct any questions or problem reports to itacssupport@fda.hhs.gov.
