U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will be conducting a Software Developer Technical Session to present upcoming programming changes for new functionality scheduled to be delivered as part of the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, March 3-4, 2015 at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Jefferson Auditorium, 1400 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington DC. This will be a two day session, free of charge, scheduled from 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Topics will include operational and technical changes related to Entry Summary Accounts and Revenue (ESAR), Cargo Release (including the PGA Message Set), Export Manifest Processing, and other functionality related to the May 1, 2015 mandatory date for filing all electronic export and import manifests in ACE and the November 1, 2015 mandatory date for filing all entries and associated entry summary filings in ACE.
CBP will issue Registration Information in late January 2015. Trade participants are encouraged to register and make their appropriate flight and hotel reservations as soon as possible.
For your reference a list of hotels in the area is attached.
Final documents, presentations, and the agenda will be available from CBP prior to the sessions. These sessions will be very valuable in preparing software developers for the programming changes they will need to make on behalf of their importer, broker and carrier clients for upcoming deployments of ACE functionality. We encourage your participation in this session.
