FDA is pleased to announce that the Centralized Entry Review (CER) pilot evaluation is complete. The CER pilot operated from August 12, 2013, through September 30, 2013, and employed reviewers from multiple districts who reviewed entries from fourteen ports across the country. This program, designed to be a learning pilot, gathered a comprehensive set of performance metrics which provided valuable data regarding the benefits and challenges of conducting import entry review in a centralized structure. These findings will help to improve the import process both now and in the future.

In addition to providing the evaluation for public viewing, we would also like to offer our sincere thanks to those of you who worked with FDA on the CER pilot and took the time to provide valuable input and feedback, as well as continuing to work with us. Your participation was essential for the success of this pilot.

The evaluation is available for public viewing at the following link: http://www.fda.gov/downloads/ForIndustry/ImportProgram/UCM427231.pdf.
