Effective November 1, 2015, the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) will become U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP’s) official system of record for all electronically transmitted entry and corresponding entry summary data. By this date, filers must transmit all electronic entries and corresponding entry summaries to ACE.

Testing of Capabilities Prior to the Upcoming ACE Mandatory Use Date
--------------------------------------------------------------------
As of July 28, 2015, the majority of all code needed for the upcoming ACE mandatory use date has been deployed to the Certification environment and is available for testing by all trade software developers and self-programmed filers. See specific information about the available capabilities in the Certification environment, entry type 06 and Remote Location Filing (RLF) on the attachment.

CBP strongly recommends trade software developers and self-programmed filers work with their Client Representatives to test new and existing entry and entry summary capabilities (including the refactored entry/entry summary types 01, 03, and 11) via the Certification environment to ensure they are ready well in advance of the upcoming ACE mandatory date. Implementation Guides for the capabilities listed on the following pages are posted to CBP.gov/ACE.

Non-ABI Filings Post-ACE Mandatory Use Date
-------------------------------------------
Members of the trade community who file non-electronic (non-ABI) entry data with CBP are not impacted by the November 1st transition, and may continue to submit paper documents to CBP for manual entry and entry summary processing.

For more information, please visit CBP.gov/ACE. You may also contact your assigned Client Representative or send an email to AskACE@cbp.dhs.gov.
