The Food And Drug Administration is reissuing clarification regarding new PIC and Subclass Codes which will be effective on 9/20/15 for use under Industry Code 98 – Tobacco Products:
SUBCLASS CODES:
A Unflavored
B Flavored (Menthol)
C Flavored (Other)
PIC CODES:
A For Consumer Use
B For Further Manufacturing
C For Investigational Use
Tobacco lines transmitted without a subclass and PIC will be rejected starting 9/20/15.
The Food And Drug Administration has added the following new Class Codes and which will become effective 9/20/15, for use under Industry Code 98 - Tobacco Products:

F Roll-Your-Own Tobacco Component, Part or Accessory
The Food And Drug Administration is adding the following new Product Codes which will be effective 9/20/15, for use under Industry Code 98 - Tobacco Products:
98B--10 Bidis, Thin
98C--14 Dissolvable Tobacco, Stick
98C--15 Dissolvable Tobacco, Strip
98C--16 Smokeless Tobacco Pouches
98C--17 Smokeless Tobacco, Bulk
98D--05 Roll-Your-Own Tobacco, Loose Leaf, Light, Mild, or Low
98D--06 Roll-Your-Own Tobacco, Bulk
98E--01 Cigarette Paper
98E--02 Cigarette Filters
98E--03 Cigarette Tipping Paper
98F--01 Roll-Your-Own Paper
98F--02 Roll-Your-Own Filters
98F--03 Roll-Your-Own Tube
98F--04 Roll-Your-Own Tipping Paper
The Food And Drug Administration will end-date the following Product Codes and they will no longer be available for use, effective 9/20/15:
98 A 02 Tobacco Refuse, Bulk, Unflavored
98 A 07 Tobacco Refuse, Bulk, Flavored (Menthol)
98 A 08 Tobacco Refuse, Bulk, Flavored (Other)
98 A 99 Tobacco, Not Elsewhere Classified (N.E.C.), Bulk
98 B 99 Cigarettes, Not Elsewhere Classified (N.E.C.)
98 C 99 Smokeless Tobacco, Not Elsewhere Classified (N.E.C.)
98 D 99 Roll-Your-Own Materials, Not Elsewhere Classified (N.E.C)
The Food And Drug Administration will end-date the following Product Codes in the attachment; however, alternative Product Codes will be available for use, effective 9/20/2015.
