PLEASE FORWARD THIS NOTICE TO YOUR IT DEPARTMENTS

This Notice applies to trade partners utilizing the Cisco Software Client and/or an EZ-VPN Hardware device for making MQ CLIENT connections, and whose VPN account has been inactive for over 45 days.

Due to the change in policy, all trade partners utilizing one of the VPN connections identified above will be required to connect AND send/receive data at least once per 30 days.
This new security policy will be effective 04/01/16; therefore, any account that has remained inactive for 45 days after this date will be suspended. Ninety (90) days from this date, any account remaining inactive will be deleted.

How will I know if my account has been suspended or deleted?

In the event an account is suspended, you will likely experience an MQ Security error code (2035).
In the event of a deleted account, you will likely experience the inability to initiate a VPN connection.
Users who experience a suspended account should email MQSTAFFOPS@cbp.dhs.gov or call Middleware MQ Operations at (703) 921-6635.
Users who have had their account deleted will need to contact their assigned CBP Client Representative to initiate a Service Request with the Network Group to re-establish a new VPN connection. If you do not know who your assigned CBP Client Representative is, please follow the Letter of Intent guidance found at http://www.cbp.gov/document/guidance/letter-intent-instructions
