Legacy AESDirect Shipment Manager and Website

This is a reminder that the legacy AESDirect Shipment manager and website are still available for review until May 20th, 2016. Users are no longer able to file through the legacy AESDirect system however; you are able to review shipment information that you filed using the shipment manager.

We are encouraging all parties to utilize the Shipment Manager tool to look up and document previously filed shipments using the AESDirect website. In order to utilize this function in the Legacy AESDirect system you will need to:
1. Sign-in to aesdirect.census.gov
2. Select “Shipment Manager”
3. Click on the Drop down “Search for shipments by” and highlight over “Date of Filing”, select “Choose Filing Date”.
4. Utilizing the calendar option in the new fields, select a date range up to 92 days. (ie. 01/01/16 – 03/31/16) *This function is available for shipments filed up to 5 years in the past.
5. Click to download the file on the right hand side of the screen and choose the file type.
6. Continue step 3-5 until you have downloaded all of the files you wish to keep as records.

You are able to retrieve shipments originally filed in the Legacy AESDirect system by using the “Amend AES Filing” option in the Refactored AESDirect Application in ACE. In order to retrieve an old shipment you will need to:
1. Click “Amend AES Filing”
2. Enter the Internal Transaction Number, Shipment Reference Number, and your Filer ID (EIN) for the specific shipment you wanting to find.
3. The old shipment will be brought into the new system and the data will populate in the new record format.
