Title:Update on License, Permit, and Certification Issues on ACE Entries
Date:2016-08-03

Since the July 23, 2016 deployment of quota entry types in ACE, CBP has continued to work with the trade to identify and resolve issues related to licenses, permits, and certificates (LPC). Below is a summary of the issues and the current status.

1. Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) entry summaries - a number of requirements were incorrectly applied to FTZ entry summaries. These validations are being relaxed to properly allow FTZ entry summaries without requiring LPC.

2. Beef entry summaries - ACE was improperly requiring beef permits on some entry summaries. The validation has been relaxed to properly allow the entry summary to be accepted.

3. Sugar entry summaries - ACE incorrectly validated the license number for sugar from Columbia. This validation has been relaxed until a correction can be deployed to the validation. ACE incorrectly required license numbers for sugar from Mexico. The system has been modified to no longer require a license for Mexican sugar.

4. Steel entry summaries - ACE was improperly rejecting for duplicate licenses. This has been corrected. ACE Was also improperly requiring licenses in some instances. These validations have been relaxed until a permanent fix is implemented**. CBP will provide notice in advance. **CBP has continued to receive examples of this issue and has found additional validations requiring modification.

These entry summaries may be resubmitted if previously rejected. If you continue to encounter issues, please contact your assigned Client Representative with examples of the rejection.
