This message clarifies the status of industry code 68 product codes for animal drugs (program code VME) referenced in CSMS# 17-000218.
The Food and Drug Administration will be end dating CVM Animal Drug product codes under Industry 68 and CVM Animal Drug Subclasses J, K, and X under Industry 56, and will add CVM Animal Drug subclasses under industry 56. Industry Code 68 will only be used for CVM Animal Device products.
These changes were effective as of May 14, 2017.
The Food and Drug Administration has also added a Process Indicator code (PIC) of ‘PIC G – Semi Solid Oral’ to Industry Codes 56 and 60-66, to be effective immediately.
