On October 21st, 2017, ACE deployed Truck Manifest story CAOM-13153, “MEDPID Add/Modify Crew EDI message validation to prevent an invalid date of birth for the driver”. Prior to this deployment, if a driver/crew modify was submitted and the date of birth did not need to be updated, the date of birth was not a required field. Post the deployment, the date of birth is required regardless of whether it is being modified. This result was not intended as part of the story and the ACE Office is working to change the functionality back to the original state, where on the Modify Crew EDI message, the date of birth (DTM segment) is only required if the birth date is being modified.
The work around until the fix can be deployed is to submit the date of birth with the Modify message.
