IN PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION 6517, DATED DECEMBER 23, 1992
(FEDERAL REGISTER VOL. 57, NO. 249, PAGE 61757), PRESIDENT BUSH
DESIGNATED ETHIOPIA AS A BENEFICIARY DEVELOPING COUNTRY FOR
PURPOSES OF THE GENERALIZED SYSTEM OF PREFERENCES (GSP) AND
WITHDREW GSP BENEFITS FOR SULFANILIC ACID.
ACTION:
1. EFFECTIVE AS TO ARTICLES ENTERED OR WITHDRAWN FROM WAREHOUSE
FOR CONSUMPTION, ON OR AFTER JANUARY 12, 1993, GENERAL NOTE
3(C)(II)(A) TO THE HTS IS MODIFIED BY INSERTING "ETHIOPIA" IN
ALPHABETICAL ORDER IN THE ENUMERATION OF INDEPENDENT
COUNTRIES.
2. IN ORDER TO WITHDRAW THE DUTY-FREE TREATMENT ACCORDED UNDER
THE GSP TO SULFANILIC ACID, EFFECTIVE AS TO ARTICLES ENTERED
OR WITHDRAWN FOR CONSUMPTION ON OR AFTER JANUARY 12, 1993, THE
HTS IS MODIFIED AS PROVIDED BELOW, WITH BRACKETED MATTER
INCLUDED TO ASSIST IN THE UNDERSTANDING OF PROCLAIMED
MODIFICATIONS.
