FROM: FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION DATA SYSTEMS
THE FDA'S PROCESSING SYSTEMS, OASIS AND EEPS, WILL BE DOWN FROM
00:01 HOURS, JULY 4, 1997 THROUGH EARLY MORNING JULY 7, 1997. DURING THIS
TIME THE FDA'S OASIS/EEPS HARDWARE WILL BE UPGRADED AND THE IBM MAINFRAME
COMMUNICATIONS CHANNEL USED BY OASIS/EEPS WILL BE MOVED. ENTRIES WITH
FDA REGULATED PRODUCTS SUBMITTED THROUGH ABI WILL RECEIVE INITIAL
SCREENING IN ABI AND FILERS WILL RECEIVE THE INITIAL R6 SCREENING MESSAGES
FOR THOSE ENTRIES. FDA WILL PROCESS THESE ENTRIES USING OASIS OR EEPS
ON MONDAY, JULY 7, 1997.
IF FILERS EXPECT TO HAVE ENTRIES THAT WILL REQUIRE CLEARANCE DURING
THIS PERIOD, THEY SHOULD CONTACT THEIR LOCAL FDA OFFICE TO MAKE
ARRANGEMENTS, USING LOCAL PROCEDURES, TO OBTAIN FDA REVIEW OF ENTRIES.
ANY ENTRIES PROCESSED USING THESE PROCEDURES WILL BE REPROCESSED IN
OASIS OR EEPS WHEN THE SYSTEM BECOMES AVAILABLE. THESE ENTRIES WILL THEN
RECEIVE R6 OUTPUT MESSAGES AND NOTICES AS APPROPRIATE.
