Subject: Changes to the 2008 Harmonized Tariff Schedule
The changes recently completed in the HSA include:
1. Modifications made as a result of Presidential Proclamation 8228, titled “To Modify the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States and for Other Purposes.” New statistical breakouts were created, and these changes were retroactive to 02/03/07.
2. This update contains changes required by the verification of the 2008 Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS). We will continue to verify the 2008 HTS for the remainder of the year.
3. The updated records are currently available to all ABI participants and can be retrieved electronically via the procedures indicated in the CATAIR. Please direct any questions regarding this administrative message to your Client Representative or to Jennifer Keeling at Jennifer.Keeling@dhs.gov.
