CSMS Message number 08-000096, dated June 2, 2008, announced that draft ABI and AMS transactions sets for the submission of Importer Security Filings were posted to the CBP web site. That message also provided an email address that can be used to submit technical questions and comments to CBP regarding the transaction sets. Please be advised that since the rulemaking process for 10+2 is still on-going, CBP will not be formally responding to the questions and comments at this time. CBP appreciates receiving these questions and comments and earnestly invites the trade to continue submitting salient technical questions and comments to the identified email address. CBP has been analyzing the submissions and will incorporate necessary modifications or explanatory information in subsequent versions of the transaction sets and within an FAQ document to be issued following the publication of the 10+2 final rule. Final versions of the transaction sets cannot be issued prior to the publication of the final rule, but CBP does expect to release updated versions of the draft sets before that time. The first updates to the draft sets should be posted to the CBP web site in the very near future. You will be notified via a CSMS message immediately after that posting is accomplished.
