SUBJECT: Updates to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule Affecting Originating Goods under the U.S.-Chile Free Trade Agreement

Presidential Proclamation 8334, published in the Federal Register on January 7, 2009 (74 FR 611), modifies the HTS for certain originating goods under the U.S.-Chile Free Trade Agreement (US-CFTA). These modifications are a result of an understanding reached by the Governments of the United States of America and the Republic of Chile under Article 3.3(4) of the United States – Chile Free Trade Agreement to accelerate the elimination of customs duties for the HTS subheadings listed below. The elimination of duties shall be effective for goods entered, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after January 1, 2009.

0710.22.40 Beans, reduced in size

0710.30.00 Spinach, New Zealand spinach, orache spinach

0710.40.00 Sweet corn

0710.80.97 Vegetables nesi, uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water, frozen, reduced in size.

0710.90.91 Mixtures of vegetables not elsewhere specified or included, uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water, frozen.
