All drivers approved for participation in the FAST program MUST be identified in ACE e-manifest data by their FAST proximity card numbers.

When a FAST driver's proximity card number is used to identify a driver in an ACE e-manifest, ACE will use the master data that is created and modified via Global Enrollment system (GES) or the Global Online Enrollment System (GOES). It is important to understand that the FAST proximity card number will not be properly recognized in ACE if it is reported as an “Other Document”. In the ACE Portal you must look up the driver/crew by using the feature “Add Crew Member by ID” when creating the e-Manifest.

When using a commercial software product or your own EDI software the software provider or your software developer must transmit the FAST card number in the proper EDI position and omit all the other Identification Documents (IDs) as is indicated in the EDI Implementation Guidelines (IGs). In ANSX.12 that position is NM109 with the FAST proximity qualifier “PY” in the NM108 position. In UN/EDIFACT that position is the NAD segment group 2, when DE 3035 = VW (primary driver) or FM (secondary driver) send the proximity card number in the DE C082/3039 with DE C082/1131 = 8.
