Subject: Changes to the 2009 Harmonized Tariff Schedule
The changes recently completed include:
1. Modifications made as a result of Presidential Proclamation 8394, To Modify Duty-Free Treatment under the Generalized System of Preferences. These changes are effective on July 1, 2009.
2. Adjustments to cotton assessments mandated by the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS). These adjustments are effective August 7, 2009.
3. Changes were also made as required by the verification of the 2009 Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS). We will continue to verify the 2009 HTS for the remainder of the year.
4. The updated records are currently available to all ABI participants and can be retrieved electronically via the procedures indicated in the CATAIR.
