Title:ACS Entry Summaries not receiving notification of failed paperless status
Date:2010-03-16

Currently, the Automated Broker Interface (ABI) system is not providing summary selectivity results to inform filers every time an entry summary is selected for team review. Consequently there are situations where the trade is not electronically advised that the entry package is owed or the electronic invoice is required. This condition can affect all ACS entry summaries, regardless of whether or not they are flagged for electronic invoice filing (i.e., filed via Electronic Invoice Program or Remote Location Filing). Until this issue is resolved, ports have been instructed not to pursue liquidated damages or penalties based on the filer's failure to timely submit documents and/or electronic invoices.

Customs and Border Protection will advise once this issue has been resolved.

Questions should be directed to Ms. Laurie Dempsey, Chief, Entry Summary and Drawback Branch at (202) 863-6509 or laurie.dempsey@dhs.gov.
