U.S. Customs and Border Protection has just posted the Customs and Border Protection International Trade Data System (ITDS) Concept of Operations (CONOPS) document to CBP.gov. The CONOPS describes the anticipated future import process to be used by CBP in the Automated Commercial Environment. It addresses the needs of the three distinct stakeholder interest groups – CBP, participating government agencies and the trade community. The CONOPS was requested by the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Executive Steering Committee, to pave the way for future ACE funding and development.
