As announced in CSMS Message #11-000223, CBP will be conducting two ACE technical seminars for trade software developers, one focused on ACE ocean and rail manifest and one focused on ACE ABI functionality. Each seminar is expected to take two days.

The ocean and rail software seminar will focus on CAMIR and X12 message formats that are required as part of the M1 Ocean and Rail Manifest Deployment. This seminar will provide the opportunity to have an open dialogue with CBP on the technical issues surrounding the programming changes, related policy, process, and information on the upcoming Trade Pilot test.

The second seminar will target ABI participants and will focus on current and future ACE deployments including ACE Entry Summary Filing, Post Summary Corrections, PGA Message Set, Document Image System and Cargo Release. This seminar will provide the opportunity to have an open dialogue with CBP on the technical issues surrounding the programming changes and related policy and process.

We are in the process of procuring hotel space for these seminars in the D.C. Metro area. The planned dates for these seminars are November 29-30 and December 1-2, 2011, respectively. The anticipated cost is $120 per person, per two-day seminar.

Once the contract with the hotel is in place, we will provide you with information pertaining to hotel reservations and instructions for the pay.gov registration fee process. As a reminder, no more than 3 representatives from each company may participate.

Please direct any questions you may have to Susan Maskell (susan.maskell@dhs.gov) and Josephine Baiamonte (Josephine.baiamonte@dhs.gov)
