US Customs and Border Protection Trade Day
March 28, 2012
U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Area Port of Champlain is pleased to announce the first “Trade Day”, scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, 2012. This event will provide an opportunity for members of the trade community to meet with the CBP and other government officials who are responsible for facilitating the importation of your goods every day while enforcing the various trade laws.
The Trade Day activities will be held in the 2nd floor conference room of the Cargo Building, located at 237 West Service Road in Champlain, NY. Two separate but identical sessions will be held in order to accommodate busy schedules. The morning session will run from 10:00 to 12:00, and the afternoon session from 1:00 to 3:00. There will be no formal presentations. You are encouraged to bring your questions and to interact on a one-on-one basis with government officials who are responsible for processing and facilitating your import transactions while enforcing the various trade laws. This event is intended as an opportunity for members of the trade community to meet the Area Port Trade Staff, which includes Import Specialists, Entry Specialists, Cargo Officers, and Agriculture Specialists, to gain information that is relevant to your specific issues, and to establish contact for future reference. Representatives from government agencies with which CBP partners, such as the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Food and Drug Administration, US Department of Agriculture and Fish & Wildlife, will also be on hand to answer questions.
