The purpose of this message is to amend CSMS Message # 13-000318 sent on June 20, 2013 regarding basic drawback class for filers new to the drawback process scheduled for August 13, 2013 at the LAX Cargo Building. In order to accommodate a larger number of attendees the date and location of the class have changed:

2 sessions will be held: 9:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. Sessions are divided by company name.
First names and company names starting with A-L are scheduled for the 9:30 session.
First names and company names starting with M-Z are scheduled for the 1:30 session.
All parties who requested attendance as of 7/19/13 are confirmed for attendance. Due to limited seating, please do not alter the class you are scheduled for without prior approval.
All attendees will have to check in with Security, show ID and log in. Attendees will be given a temporary badge for the 6th floor.
The power point presentation will be emailed to participants by close of business on August 12, 2013. A hard copy will not be provided at the class.
This is a basic class aimed at filers new to the drawback process with little or no experience. This class will NOT cover manufacturing claims, Nafta, substitution or inventory methods. Topics will include: Completion of the forms 7551 & 7553, same condition drawback (type 42), rejected merchandise drawback (type 43), privilege application for waiver of prior notice, one time waiver of prior notice and accelerated payment, process for utilizing automated broker interface (ABI), where to file, what happens next, self filers (c28), record keeping, format for manual claims, same condition exports to Canada & Mexico, mistakes to avoid, proof of export, and Drawback Centers contacts.
