CBP has published a Federal Register Notice today announcing Phase II of the Document Image System (DIS) test (see attached). Among other things, this phase of DIS reduces the number of metadata required for each form, provides the ability to submit Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) forms at the time of manifest, provides the ability for software providers to electronically transmit data received for transmission to CBP, and expands the document types for Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) to include Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Defense Contract Management Administration (DCMA), and Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) documents.
