Title:ACE Truck Manifest: Foreign port reporting requirements

CBP internal testing has revealed that some trade participants are transmitting
invalid values for foreign port codes or for the corresponding data qualifiers.
Please verify that EDI truck manifest data transmitted to CBP conforms with data
standards for foreign port codes as documented in CBP's current implementation
guidelines.

Beginning on or after July 1, 2014, ACE Truck Manifest edits on foreign ports
will be tightened. In ACE Truck shipments designated for broker download or for
movement in-bond, a valid code must be used to identify the foreign port of
loading. For Transportation & Exportation (type 62) and Immediate Exportation
(type 63) in-bonds a valid code must also be used to identify the foreign port
of destination.

Valid Schedule K foreign port codes can be found in CAMIR Appedix F
(http://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/documents/appendix_f_3.doc).
Inland Schedule K codes for Canadian Provinces and Mexican States are also valid
and can be found on page B-9 of the ABI CATAIR
(http://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/documents/app_b_02_4_3.doc).

Foreign port of loading is reported in
X.12 309 data element M1102 with qualifier “K “ (K-space) in data element M1125;
or in
EDIFACT CUSCAR Group 9 LOC segment data element 3225
preceded by qualifier 9 in data element 3227 and
followed in data element 1131 by either 78 for a Schedule K code
or 277 for an Inland Schedule K code.

Foreign port of destination is reported in
X.12 309 data element M1204;
or in
EDIFACT CUSCAR Group 9 LOC segment data element 3225
preceded by qualifier 8 in data element 3227 and
followed in data element 1131 by either 78 for a Schedule K code
or 277 for an Inland Schedule K code.
