For all AIR in-bond filers at approximately 10:00 am EST, on Monday, August 21st, CBP will start to send out FSN (Air status notification) messages reporting additional in-bond and local transfer status messaging as follows per the industry. The messaging has been in the ACE Certification region since April 2017 and will be activated in Production Monday. There will be no system outage necessary for this activity.
The primary purpose of activating these disposition codes related to Mode of Transport "Air" transactions is to enable CBP entry filers electing to provide electronic in-bond departure detail via ACE applications QP and WP to receive immediate notification in the event the incoming air carrier, or other party related to BOL (e.g. the originator of house shipment information) cancels air shipment transfer detail or the entire BOL.
ACE Air participants are reminded that as the Remarks field of the CSN line (CBP Status Notification) is limited to 20 characters, the descriptive text will be truncated to the first 20 characters as shown in the table below. Please note that there are two possible texts for disposition code 12, depending on how the in-bond is arrived -- CAMIR ASN3 message, CATAIR WP, or CBP Officer manual action.
