CBP is working to retire and relocate applications that are housed on the Mainframe. To comply with this Government Mandate, CBP Middleware has already completed the Trade Migration of the Certification MQ Trade Gateway (QGC1) to the IBM MQ Appliance platform. This was migrated almost a year ago. Middleware has been requested once again to schedule the migration of the Production MQ Trade Gateway (QGP2) to the IBM MQ Appliance platform.
While we have no way of knowing how many trade partners have tested in Certification since the migration, we believe it to be imperative for the trade community, especially X.12 filers, to test in Certification to make sure their systems can consume the CBP-generated responses. This sense of urgency is driven by a couple trade X12 partners who have recently inquired as to system changes at CBP. We very much want to mitigate impacts to the trade with this impending migration.
