This CSMS updates CSMS # 18-000085, 744, 583 and 531 (Information about NMFS SIM program updates)

This notice reminds importers and filers that entry filings for products using HTS codes identified in the link below will be required to submit SIM data on April 1, 2019.

The HTS list has been updated to include HTS code 0306.33.4000, which is used to import live red king crab, a species within the scope of the Seafood Import Monitoring Program. Imports using this HTS code for species not subject to SIM will require only a 3-Alpha species code as designated by ASFIS.

The Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes applicable to this mandate to file NMFS SIM program data will be updated with an NM8 flag for SIM. The list of 3 alpha codes will also be updated. These updates are currently in CERT and will be in PROD beginning April 2, 2019 and will be completed no later than April 5, 2019.

The list of HTS and 3-alpha codes that will be flagged for SIM, and other program requirements can be found at the following web site: https://www.iuufishing.noaa.gov/RecommendationsandActions/RECOMMENDATION1415/FinalRuleTraceability.aspx

ASFIS List of Species for Fishery Statistics Purposes provides a downloadable list of all 3-alpha codes: http://www.fao.org/fishery/collection/asfis/en
