*** CUSTOMS COMPUTER SYSTEM UPGRADE #2 ***

AS INDICATED IN ADMIN MESSAGE 95-0748, DATED 7/28/95, WE ARE PLANNING
TO UPGRADE THE COMMUNICATION HARDWARE ON ALL THREE PRODUCTION
FRONT-END PROCESSORS OVER THE COURSE OF THE MONTH. THE FIRST UPGRADE
HAS BEEN COMPLETED. THE REMAINING UPGRADES WILL BE SPREAD OUT OVER
TWO WEEKENDS, AUGUST 12 AND AUGUST 19, AND WE INTEND TO USE A
SEGMENT OF THE REGULAR WEEKEND DOWNTIMES.

THE NEXT UPGRADE IS SCHEDULED TO OCCUR ON AUGUST 12, 1995.
THE REGULAR DOWNTIME SEGMENT SELECTED FOR THIS HARDWARE UPGRADE IS
SATURDAY EVENING 11:00 PM TO SUNDAY MORNING 3:00 AM (EDST).
SOME USERS WHO TRANSMIT DURING THIS DOWNTIME (11:00 PM TO 3:00 AM)
MAY ENCOUNTER PERIODIC COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS, WHERE ACCESS TO THE
SYSTEM CAN NOT BE ACHIEVED; FOR EXAMPLE, AN ATTEMPT TO DIAL-IN
RESULTS IN A RING-NO ANSWER; DEDICATED LINES GET DISCONNECTED, ETC.
IF YOU ENCOUNTER COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS WITHIN THIS DOWNTIME
WINDOW, PLEASE TRY COMMUNICATING AFTER THE 3:00 AM "END" TIME.
IF YOU CONTINUE TO ENCOUNTER COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS AFTER 3:00 AM
ON SUNDAY, PLEASE CONTACT THE DATA CENTER FOR ASSISTANCE.
