On July 15, 2010, the frequently asked questions (FAQ) for Importer Security Filing (ISF) were published noting a number of changes that many trade participants have been anxious to begin using. As that time has finally arrived, below are a list of those changes that will become effective on December 18, 2010 for both ABI and AMS users. The revised documents will be published within a few business days on the Pending Transactions Sets page found at:

***Changes to stand-alone CATAIR ISF
1. SF10 record
a. Add the following codes to the ISF Submission Type:
3 ISF-5 submission type is being changed to an ISF-10
4 SF-10 submission type is being changed to an ISF-5
5 Late ISF-10 submitted without a bond
6 Late ISF-5 submitted without a bond
b. Change description for Date of Birth to:
Required if ISF Importer Number Qualifier = 'AEF' (Passport Number) or '34' (SSN). Valid format for Date of Birth is MMDDYYYY.
c. Changes to the language of Note 1, Note 2, and Note 4
2. Add SF13 record as provided in the updated IG to show:
a. Sub-shipment Type
b. Estimated Value
c. Estimated Quantity
d. Estimated Weight
3. SF20 record
a. Change the description of Reference Identifier to 'Reference Data'.
b. Add the following codes to the list of Reference Identifier Qualifier:
FN Full Name of ISF Importer
c. Changes to Note 1 and Note 2
4. SF30 record
a. Change the Country Code and DOB as shown in the updated IG
b. Change to Note 3
5. SF50 record
a. Change to the record description

1. SF10 record
a. Add the following codes to the ISF Submission Type:
3 ISF-5 submission type is being changed to an ISF-10
