On October 22, 2010, CSMS 10-000246 was issued with a number of changes to Importer Security Filing (ISF) stand-alone documentation. An update has been made to the SF13 record (CATAIR/CAMIR) and N9 segment (X.12) to include a unit of measure for the estimated quantity. The change will be reflected in a new version of the documentation to be published shortly.

Please, also see Note 1 of the SF10 record (N9 in X.12 format) for more detailed explanation of the various ISF Submission Types.

Additionally, these changes will now become effective on January 23, 2011 for both ABI and AMS users to allow additional time for programming. For those software providers who are unable to provide updates to their clients at once and immediately on January 23, 2011, CBP will continue to accept the current formatting for a period of time with an Accepted with Warnings message. A CSMS will be issued prior to converting these Accepted with Warnings messages to Rejections. This should allow all parties ample time to comply with the programming changes described in CSMS 10-000246.

If you have any questions, please contact your assigned Client Representative, or call 571-468-5500 for more information.
