On August 26, 2008 a Federal Register Notice (FRN) was issued announcing new capabilities for functionality in ACE including Entry Summaries (types 01 and 11) and Census Warning Overrides/Queries. In this FRN, CBP asked for volunteers in two categories (ABI software developers and ABI entry filers) to act as early adopters for the initial deployments.
As you are probably aware, the initial deployment took place on April 12, 2009 at the port of Buffalo.
Future deployments are currently scheduled as follows:
Laredo, Chicago, and Los Angeles – May 4, 2009
Remaining 17 ports listed in the FRN – May 18, 2009
All remaining ports throughout the country – June 18, 2009
We are now planning to open up Certification Testing to additional ABI software developers beginning on May 11, 2009. If you are interested in testing your software in preparation for future deployments, please contact your ABI Client Representative.
At this time, CBP is NOT expanding the number of ABI entry filers beyond the early adopters. You will be notified when CBP is ready to accept additional ABI entry filers. If you are interested in filing ACE Entry Summaries when expansion to additional entry filers is announced and use an ABI software package, please contact your software vendor to make them aware of your interest.
