On August 26, 2008 a Federal Register Notice (FRN) was issued announcing new capabilities for functionality in ACE including Entry Summaries (types 01 and 11) and Census Warning Overrides/Queries. In this FRN, CBP asked for volunteers in two categories (ABI software developers and ABI entry filers) to act as early adopters for the initial deployments.
The initial deployment took place on April 12, 2009 at the port of Buffalo.
Future deployments are currently scheduled as follows:
- Laredo, Chicago, and Los Angeles – May 4, 2009
- Remaining 17 ports listed in the FRN – May 18, 2009
- All remaining ports throughout the country – June 18, 2009
CBP is now announcing that additional entry filers will be permitted to transmit ACE entry summaries beginning on June 29, 2009. If you are an entry filer interested in transmitting ACE entry summaries at any of the above locations on that date, please contact your ABI Client Representative.
Please be advised that:
1. Remote Location Filing (RLF) functionality WILL BE supported
2. Payment MUST be scheduled for statement on initial transmission of the entry summary
3. You must be using a software package that has been fully Certification tested and approved by the ABI Client Rep.
If you are interested in filing ACE Entry Summaries and use an ABI software package, please contact your software vendor to make them aware of your interest.
